December 3rd 2019 marks the 20th Anniversary of Worcester’s Cold Storage Fire. To honor the six men who lost their lives on that night, and all firefighters and police officers killed in the line of duty in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Worcester Fire Fighters Local 1009 will be competing in the 2020 Boston Bruins Foundation’s 4th Annual BFit Challenge, which will be held at the TD Garden on January 26, 2020.
The Boston Bruins Foundation’s Bfit Challenge is a one-of-a-kind event that includes First Responders and civilians from all over New England who climb stairs and run laps throughout the TD Garden (firefighters in full gear) to raise awareness of the health and wellness of first responders and to raise money for The 100 Club. The 100 Club, one of the charities supported by the Boston Bruins Foundation, makes an unconditional promise to care for the families of firefighters and police officers of the Commonwealth who have fallen in the line of duty. The Club’s moto is, “We care for those who care for us.” The 100 Club provides financial support, sponsors events, and offers an emotional support network for these families.
Please note that 100% of the net proceeds goes directly to The 100 Club of Massachusetts.
